Seton Health/St. Mary's Hospital Emergency Department

Troy, New York

Pegasus Emergency Group practices out of Seton Health/St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, New York. We serve a growing population in Albany, Rensselaer, and Saratoga counties in the Capital Region of New York.

We care for more than 36,000 adult and pediatric patients a year, an increase of close to 25% from 2004. Pegasus Emergency Physicians staff the department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with backing from a team of surgical and specialty physicians who are on call around the clock. Patient satisfaction is our top priority, and we are committed to seeing 90% of patients within 30 minutes of arrival to the Emergency Department.

Seton Health's Emergency Department, under Pegasus Emergency Group's direction, has been designated a stroke center by meeting JCAHO's rigorous new standards and performance measurements in caring for stroke patients and offering state-of-the-art treatments. JCAHO standards require hospitals to provide excellent patient care, including rapid assessment by a multi-disciplinary team, and the most advanced treatment with clot-busting medications. Another important ingredient is a commitment to educating area health care professionals and the general public about stroke risk factors and the need for rapid treatment. Health Grades has acknowledged this effort by rating this program best in the region.
